The Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Ely District will close the Sacramento Pass Recreation Area to the public beginning Monday, July 8 to improve visitor access and safety.  The popular recreation area is located alongside U.S. Highway 6/50, about 45 miles east of Ely.

Improvements to the site include new campsite designs and furnishings, sun shelters and toilet facility, re-graded roadways and a reconstructed fishing pond that will feature an accessible fishing deck.  The improved facilities will more closely comply with Americans with Disabilities Act requirements and be designed to be environmentally friendly, where practical.
