Lois Wadsworth Higbee, one of the oldest residents of Alamo and the Pahranagat Valley has died. She was 90, and passed away peacefully, with the family around, at her home in Alamo Monday, Aug. 26.

She was born in Nov. 1922, the first daughter of Theresa Stewart Wadsworth and Earl Wadsworth. Her mother had the distinction of being the first white baby born in the valley after Alamo became a town in 1901.

Lois graduated from Pahranagat Valley High School in 1941 and married Edwin Higbee in 1942. They had seven children.

She worked for Pahranagat Valley High School beginning in 1966, and retired in 1991.  Her son Edwin Jr. said services will be held Saturday, Aug. 31 at the LDS Chapel in Alamo. Viewing from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., funeral service at 11 a.m. Internment will follow at the Alamo Cemetery.
