The Lincoln County High School volleyball team just completed a three-day road trip during where they played league games at The Meadows School and participated in the Boulder City Invitational Tournament. On Thursday Sept. 19 the Lady Lynx met The Meadows Lady Mustangs for the first of two Division III Southern League volleyball matches. The Mustangs swept the first games with scores of 25-22 and 25-23 for a 2-0 win. In the second match the Lady Lynx came through and took the first game 25-10 but then dropped the following two games of the match by scores of 25-19 and 15-12 to give the Meadows girls a 2-1 win in the match.

Individual performances by Kaylee Teel with five kills, Chelsea Lloyd with four kills, and Kaitlin Cheeney with six assists could not overcome the performances of Mustang seniors Divya Ramakrishnan with 12 digs, Lena Schulhofer with 13 digs and 13 assists, and Juniors Dani Otter with 10 kills, and Brooke Brennan with seven kills and nine digs. The losses move the Lady Lynx record to 11-7 overall and 2-2 in Conference.

Friday found the Lady Lynx at the Boulder City Invitational taking on the Division IA Moapa Valley Pirates. Lincoln won the match 2-0 with scores of 25-18 and 25-21. Kaylee Teel and Kayla Mathews each had two kills, while Kaitlin Cheeney and Chesnee Harding each added four assists in the match.

Next up the Ladies met the Southwest League Desert Oasis Diamondbacks. Lincoln swept through the match with scores of 25-20 and 25-23 for the 2-0 win. Kayla Mathews provided six kills and Chesnee Harding added six assists in the match.

Closing out play for Friday the Lady Lynx met the Rancho Rams. Lincoln won the first game of the match relatively easily with a score of 25-18 before dropping the second game by a score of 21-25. The tiebreaker would go to the Lady Lynx 15-11 for a 2-1 win over the Rams. Kaylee Teel and Chelsea Lloyd each had two kills and two aces, while Kaitlin Cheeney and Chesnee Harding contributed five assists each. Hannah Hafen added two kills and three blocks.

Lincoln opened Saturday play by dropping two games to Las Vegas High School by scores of 25-12 and 25-22, before sweeping a match with Southern Division IA Pahrump Valley High School. In the Pahrump match the Lady Lynx won with scores of  25-20 and 25-19 to take the match 2-0. Kayla Mathews and Kaylee Teel each fired five kills, with six digs for Teel and three digs with two blocks for Mathews. Kaitlin Cheeney contributed eight assists and Chesnee Harding added six assists.

Lincoln then closed out their play in the tournament with Arbor View from the Northwest League. Lincoln opened the match with Arbor View with a 25-17 win and despite firing a total of 22 kills and digging out 14, the Lady Lynx dropped the second game 20-25 and lost the tiebreaker by a disappointing 2-15.

The road trip performance brings the Lady Lynx overall record to 11-7 (2-2 conference). Next up for the Lady Lynx is a five-match home series beginning with a 3 p.m. Division III Southern League home game on Friday Sept. 27 at the Rick Phillips Gym against the Laughlin Cougars, followed by another conference match up against Lake Mead on Oct. 4 and finishing their home games for the season with a non-conference match against Pahranagat Valley.
