On March 11, Pioche Town Board met with Patrick Bendall from Sunrise Engineering to approve implementing a Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition system for the town of Pioche. The software application allows for process control, obtaining data from remote locations to monitor and control equipment and conditions. The system will digitally monitor the town’s water levels, power lines and other connections, and will immediately alert the appropriate persons in case of emergencies or problems. SCADA also warns they system when there are hazardous conditions.

Many power plants, oil and gas refineries, telecommunications, transportation, water and waste control systems have implemented the application program.

With the assistance from Sunrise Engineering, the board motioned to move forward with the project and established a timeline for advertising for bids, which should occur towards the end of March and beginning of April.
