Dec. 1 was to be the date the County Commission was to receive an update from the garbage subcommittee on their continuing talks with Recology and approval to go out to bid on Request for Proposal for garbage hauling services, hiring of a legal consultant, and proceeding with a breach of contract declaration toward Recology.

However, subcommittee member Paul Mathews said Recology asked the item on the meeting agenda be tabled.

He said Recolgy representative Paul Yamamoto expressed a desire for Recology to be able to attend all public meetings, “in order to be able to defend their position and the chairman (Dr. Adam Katschke) agreed to do that.”

The next public hearing date to deal with Crestline landfill host fees and other issues is scheduled for Jan. 19, 2015 at 11 a.m. in the Commission chambers.
