The city of Mesquite will hold its 9th annual Western Roundup Feb. 20 to 21. Showtimes are 7 p.m. Feb. 20 and 1 p.m. on Feb. 21.

The two-day celebration has become a favorite attraction for locals and visitors alike. Enjoy cowboy poetry and western music at the Mesquite Community Theater, 150 N. Yucca Street.

Headlining the musical portion of the show is Jim Dunham, well known western music singer from Prescott Valley, Ariz. Jim is known affectionately as the “Burl Ives” of western music. Poets who will recite classic cowboy and contemporary poetry include Marleen Bussma, Ken Marshall, Russ Westwood, Hap Stuart, Lee Kimberlin, Marc Bradshaw and Lincoln County rancher Mike Prince.
