The U.S. Geological Survey reported a 4.8 magnitude earthquake about 24 miles south-southwest of Caliente. The quake hit at 11:47 this morning.

The USGS initially listed the trembler as a 5.4 but has since downgraded it to 4.8.

It was felt throughout the broader region, including Las Vegas, Boulder City, Mesquite, St. George, Cedar City and the northwest corner of Arizona, according to the USGS.

Since the initial quake, several smaller aftershocks have been recorded in the area by the USGS.

No injuries or damage have been reported to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office.
