After several months of discussions and negotiations, a Memorandum of Understanding has been reached with the three units of Teamsters Local 14 in Lincoln County (clerical, road workers and dispatchers) for a new shifting pay scale.

Previously tied to the State of Nevada’s pay policies, 1, 2 and 3, with adjustments for translation, the resulting changes in the Memorandum will simplify Public Employees Retirement System calculations for employees on both employer paid and split-pay plans and will not reduce any employees pay.

Approved by the Lincoln County Board of Commissioners by unanimous vote, (Dr. Adam Katschke absent), Assistant District Attorney Franklin Katschke said per the agreement, “everyone will go down a grade, but they will stay at the same step and beginning July 1, 2016, there will be about a 2 percent increase for regular employees.”

Commissioner Paul Mathews said it had been somewhat anticipated and was included in the 2016-2017 budget for the county, which has already been approved and sent on to the state office.
