An accident involving two cars and a tractor trailer caused heavy delays on U.S. 93. Aug. 11.

A three-vehicle accident involving two passenger cars and a tractor-trailer rig occurred just south of the Pahranagat Lakes on Highway 93 Aug. 11.

Sheriff Kerry Lee said the accident was called in at 11:15 a.m. Nevada Highway Patrol, sheriff’s department and Pahranagat Valley Fire and Ambulance responded. One of the drivers of the passenger vehicles, an unnamed 27-year old woman, suffered undisclosed head injuries and MedicWest was called in from Las Vegas for transport.

Both vehicles were in the roadway, and since it was on a stretch of highway with guardrails on both sides, the Nevada Department of Transportation had to stop heavy traffic in both directions, which eventually stretched for several miles.

The tractor-trailer was able to continue on a little further and pull off onto a shoulder. No injury reported to the driver.
