The Lincoln County High School wrestling team only took new wrestlers to tournaments at Moapa Valley on Dec. 1 and the White Pine Invitational on Dec. 3.

Nick LaJoie (132), Chance Christensen (120), Kyle Zierow (138), and Matt Harr (152) competed at Moapa, with LaJoie and Harr scoring wins and Lajoie going 2-1 on the day.

At the White pine tournament, Zierow won first place and was 3-0. Trevan Perkins was 2-1 and second place at the tournament and Christensen was 1-2.

“Super excited about our young wrestlers and first-year wrestlers winning matches and tournaments,” coach Jim Bourne said.  “Kyle Zierow is only a sophomore and second-year wrestler with huge potential to be a state qualifier.”

Bourne added, “The rest of our first-year wrestlers have already won a match, which bodes well for this year and our program moving forward.”

Lincoln will next be at the Paul Williamson Memorial Tournament in Parowan. Pahranagat Valley will be there along with several Utah schools.

The Lynx will compete at the Dixie Desert Storm Duals in St. George next Friday.
