Pahranagat Valley, the 2018 2A Southern Regional wrestling champion, has eight wrestlers in the NIAA 2A state meet at the Orleans in Las Vegas.

Battle Mountain is the five-time defending state champion.

In first-round matches, Pahranagat’s Hagen Harris, South No. 3 seed, will be matched with North No. 2 seed Declain McClary, of Battle Mountain.

Jesse Jones (132), South No. 1 seed, will face North No. 4 seed, Wyatt Anderson of Eureka.

Garrett Bowen (160), South No. 3, faces North No. 2, Ryan Barns, of Yerington.

Pahranagat’s Jonathan Dillingham (170), South No. 4, will be matched with North No. 1, Joaquin Wanner, of Pershing County.

Chris Thornton (185) South No. 1, is slated to first meet South No. 5, female wrestler Kodi Cook, of West Wendover. Thornton pinned Cook in the first round of the Southern Regional last week in Laughlin. The North regional 185-pound class only had three competitors, so Cook got the No. 4 spot.

Reece Thornton (195), South No. 1, will face North No. 4 Jose Huerta, of Independence (Elko).

Tayt Leavitt (220), South No. 3, is paired with North No. 2 Randell Mosley, of Independence.

In his first-round match, Jon Stewart (285), South No. 1, will meet North No. 4 Tyler Rochester, of Battle Mountain.

Lincoln County wrestler Aiden Miller (106), South No. 4, will meet Pedro Maldenado, of Yerington, No. 1 in the North.

Austin Marshall (113), South No. 3, will meeth against North No. 2 Thornton Milligan, of Yerington.

Ben Culverwell (120), South No. 1, will face North No. 4 Ashton Sanders, of Eureka.

Jordan Free (120), South No. 2, is paired with North No. 3 Cody Scholl, of Pershing County.

Kyle Zierow (145), South No. 4, will meet North No. 1 and defending state champion Cade Draper, of Yerington.
