Two suspects were arrested last week in connection with a home invasion
and assault and battery that occurred in the early morning hours of March 9 at the Atlanta Farms, north of Pioche.
“We got the call about 4 a.m,” Sheriff Kerry Lee said.
The suspects, identified as Edwin Stephenson II, 28, of Pioche; Aaron Jacobson, 32, of Pioche; and Joel Davis, 28, of Pioche, arrived at one of the Atlanta Farms apartments and got into a verbal confrontation with an unnamed 22-year old male who was visiting friends. Another person who came with Stephenson remained outside.
Witnesses reported, “The victim finally pushed Stephenson out into the hallway and closed the door. Stephenson then located a piece of pipe, returned to the apartment, kicked in the door, and struck the victim on the head, and fled the scene.”
Deputies reported the victim “was bleeding from the head.”
The Meadow Valley ambulance responded to the call and transported the victim to Grover C. Dils Medical Center for treatment of the head laceration and swelling on his neck.
Two of the suspects were arrested by sheriff’s deputies and appeared in Meadow Valley Justice Court before Judge Cowley on Monday. Another suspect has not been charged as yet.
Deputies reported two of the assailants were identified by witnesses, and the third person was later identified through the department’s investigation.
Stephenson has been charged with home invasion, destruction of property, assault with a deadly weapon, and battery. Jacobson was charged with conspiracy to commit home invasion. Both are being held at the Lincoln County Detention Center.
Arraignment is scheduled to occur March 19.
