The 2018 Lincoln County High School track team.

On May 18, Lincoln County’s track team traveled to Reno for the 2A State Championship. Lincoln’s men’s team placed third overall, with 85 points. The women’s team placed eleventh, with 18 points.

Noah Smith took first in the 100m, taking state at 11:05 seconds. Landen Smith placed second right behind his brother at 11.19 seconds.

In the 200m, Noah Smith finished first with a PR of 22.45 seconds. This was a new state record and a new school record. Landen Smith also PR’d and placed second at 22.57 seconds.

Landen Smith took third in the 400m race at 50.62, a new PR, and he shattered the school record. Noah Smith placed fourth with a time of 51.85 seconds.

In the 110m hurdles, Noah Smith took second with a new PR of 16.15 seconds.

In the 300m hurdles, Landen Smith took first with a time of 41.44 seconds.

Guy Heaton, Hayden Showell, Alex Rowe, and Chance Christensen ran the 4x100m relay at 51.50, achieving new PR’s in each of their individual splits.

In the 4x800m relay, Heaton, Christensen, Rowe, and Ben Culverwell came in at 9:19.02. A few of the boys also shaved a few seconds off their individual splits.

In pole vault, Culverwell took third, at 11 ft.

In long jump, Benson Wadsworth jumped 18.09 ft.

Wadsworth took second in the triple jump, at 43.01 ft.

For the women’s 4x100m relay, Dani Lister, Christina Puckow, Hailey Hooge, and Brooklyn Hafen came in at 58.20 seconds.

In discus, Lister took fourth with a new SR of 93.10 ft.

In high jump, Hafen took third at 4’11’’ ft. Hafen also took third in long jump, at 15.06 ft.
